Immediate danger
If you or someone near you is in immediate physical danger, call emergency services right away.
What to expect when you call.
If you've never called a crisis line before, it's normal to feel unsure. Here's what happens when you reach out.
A trained counselor answers.
You'll connect with someone who is specifically trained in crisis intervention. They are there to listen, not to judge.
You share what you're comfortable sharing.
You set the pace. You can talk, or you can just listen. There is no script you have to follow.
They help you figure out next steps.
Together, you'll work through what's happening and identify what support might help, whether that's a safety plan, a referral, or just having someone there.
Everything stays confidential.
Crisis lines are private. Your information is not shared with employers, insurance companies, or anyone else without your consent.
